Hello, everyone!  My name is Darlene Norris, and I’m wife to Andrew, mom to Sarah, mom-in-law to Jared, step-mom to Greg, Chuck, Jenny, and Rachel, and granny to Taliesin, Shadrach, Kieran, Elise Faith, and Nora Rene, with two more grandbabies coming soon!

I love to make quilts!  I’ve done lots of other things as well, including weaving, spinning, dyeing yarn, knitting, playing with polymer clay, and making wire jewelry, but quilting is, and will always be, my first love.

My masterpiece is the wedding quilt I made for Sarah and Jared.  A king-size double wedding ring quilt, hand quilted!  They were married over three years before it was done.  I told Sarah to enjoy it, because it’ll never happen again!  Machine quilting is much faster, and I’m at the point in my life where I think I’ll send it out to be quilted if I make another big one again.  It does look nice on their bed though.

I have discovered improvisational quilting, and I love it!  The kitty in my blog header is my first attempt at this, and I think it came out pretty well!  I was amazed at how easy it was.  I feel like a whole new world has opened up to me.
